Find a Halvo Kiosk
The brief
Firefly designed and developed a touchscreen kiosk for Australian National Maritime Museum for the Dreamboats & Workboats – the Halvorsen Story exhibition. The exhibition celebrate the lives and work of the renowned Halvorsen boat building family, and draws on the museum’s extensive collection of plans and photographs of Halvorsen cruisers, ocean racing yachts, working craft – including World War II military vessels, fishing boats, tugboats and mission boats.
The ‘Find a Halvo!’ touchscreen kiosk was designed so visitors could browse more than 100 plans and photographs of Halvorsen vessels. The search function allowed for searching by name, year built, vessel number or vessel type. The archival blueprints on display were large scale which allowed visitors to magnify and view in detail.
